Lead Pastor
Todd M. Walker
Todd and his wife Janine have been married since 2009, and have 8 beautiful children from the Lord. They have been in full-time ministry since 2008, serving 12 years as secular university missionaries, and 6 years in the lead pastorate.
They began their ministry as campus missionaries in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They were also part of a church plant and Todd was the lead pastor. In fall of 2014, the Lord moved them to Northeast Pennsylvania, near Scranton to continue their university ministry. In 2018, the Lord called Todd to the lead pastorate full-time.
For over a decade, the Lord placed a growing burden on their heart to reach out to the New England area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And in the fall of 2022, Todd got connected to Crossroads Church in Littleton, New Hampshire, and the calling to reach New England with the Love of Jesus was fully realized.
Todd and Janine love their big family and see it as a gift from the Lord and a blessing to the ministry.
Todd's passion is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and helping others know God's great love for them. He loves preaching, teaching, podcasting (which he calls todcasting), and writing. Janine's passion is supporting Todd's calling, being a loving wife and mom, and homeschooling their young children.
They both love the New England area and desire to be here for many years, should the Lord allow it.
What We Believe
The Bible
In the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe the Bible is the written Word of God and is therefore, without error and infallible in their original manuscripts as they were written by holy men of God moved by the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
(Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
Triune God
In the Triune God, one God, unchanging, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons and revealing Himself to us in three distinct entities: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14;
Ephesians 4:4-6)
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ to be fully God, who, being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, became fully man. We believe He lived a sinless life and provided for the atonement of our sins through the shedding of His blood and substitutionary death on the cross. We believe in His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension where He now rules at the right hand of His Father and ever lives to make intercession for us.
(John 1:1-3, 14; Matthew 1:18-25; Acts 1:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 John 2:1)
Holy Spirit
In the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Triune God, who forever seals, indwells, and empowers every believer the moment they place their faith in Jesus Christ. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in the Bible and that according to His will He distributes these gifts to each believer for the benefit of the body. We believe that these gifts are valid for today if they are exercised within scriptural guidelines.
(John 14:16-17, 16:13-15; Acts 2:38; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 1:13)
Man
All things were created by God and are designed to bring Him glory. We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the creation fell with man inheriting a sinful nature, resulting in not only physical death but also spiritual death. We believe every sinful man is alienated from God and falls short of the glory of God in thought, word, and deed, and of himself is utterly unable to remedy his lost, sinful condition.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10-23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:17-19)
Salvation
Salvation is by God's grace through personal faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ alone, not by self works, and that all who place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God and joint-heirs with Christ.
(John 1:12, 3:3-8, 15-17; Romans 8:14-17; Ephesians 2:8-9)
One True Church
In the one true church as the Body of Christ, composed exclusively of all who have been born again by placing their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe as members of this one Body, we are united by the Holy Spirit to one another and to Christ, who is the Head of the Body-His church. We believe that God desires His children to be holy, as He is holy, conformed into the image of Jesus.
(1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; Romans 8:28-29, 1 Thessalonians 4:3,7-8; 1 Peter 1:13-16)
Eternal Security
That every true child of God is an heir of eternal life through Jesus. Being justified by faith, sanctified by God, and sealed by the Holy Spirit, he/she cannot lose their salvation. However, a Christian can through sin, lose their fellowship, joy, power, testimony, and final reward, and also incur the Father’s chastisement. Obedience to the Commandments of the Lord Jesus is a validation of this blessed assurance.
(John 10:28-29; Hebrews 12:5-11; 1 Cor. 11:30-32; John 5:24)
Second Coming
That God has promised the world that Jesus is coming again at a time not revealed to mankind, to both gather His Church unto Himself for all eternity and to judge the world according to the Eternal Law of God.
(Zechariah 14:3-4; Acts 1:11-12; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:4-6)
Satan
That Satan was created by God as the most powerful and mightiest angel who fell due to self-pride, wanting to be God himself, and is God’s enemy and our adversary and who along with his spiritual host of wickedness are constantly looking to destroy our testimony and faith.
(Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-15; Ephesians 2:1-3, 6:11-12; 1 Peter 5:8)
Love
That love is more important than the most spectacular gifts, and without love, all exercise of spiritual gifts is entirely worthless.
(Romans 13:8-10; 1 Corinthians 13)
Our Mission
The Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of God are the sole foundations by which every ministry, program and activity we develop, support or manage at Crossroads Church will be built upon. We are confident that as we work closely with Christ-followers to love God and love people, we will see a revolutionary change in our local community and beyond. We are committed to keeping this God-honoring mission.
As the Body of Christ, we must all be committed to building upon this mission with the following core values. These core values are designed to equip and focus our members’ daily spiritual walk to both develop our church family and to work outside the walls of our church to minister to a hurting world. Everything we do flows out of these core values.
COMMITMENT TO BEING GUIDED BY GOD’S WORD
“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes. ” — PSALMS 119:11, 12
Without a doubt, Crossroads Church is built upon the Word of God. We desire to never waver nor compromise the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. It is the sole guide and authority for our Christian life. We are committed to accurately teaching and preaching Holy Scripture at every opportunity. The Word of God is “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” We are committed to going deeper into the Word of God, being transformed from the inside out by faith, in order to experience the fullness of the abundant life that Jesus offers (Heb. 4:12, 5:12-15 & John 10:10).
COMMITMENT TO BEING GUIDED BY GOD’S SPIRIT
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. ” — GALATIANS 5:22, 23
We are committed to a full Spirit-guided life by bearing the fruit of the Spirit, as well as the discovery, development and deployment of our spiritual gifts for the “equipping of the body, till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to be a perfect man to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Gal. 5:22,23 & Eph. 4:11-23).
COMMITMENT TO BEING THE LOVING BODY OF JESUS CHRIST
“Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it; You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” — MATTHEW 22:37-40
Body Life: We are committed to gathering as the body of Jesus Christ, having fervent love for one another. We extend that love to God by our holy living, to Christ by our praise and worship, and to the Holy Spirit by our obedience. We extend that love to one another by our grace, compassion, forgiveness and longsuffering and we extend that love to our neighbors by providing a safe, Gospel-centered environment for all people (1 Peter 4:8).
We were never intended to live the Christian life alone. We are to “bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). At Crossroads, we value each member’s commitment to loving and serving each other every day of the week.
Body Life through prayer: As part of the loving body of Jesus Christ, we integrate prayer into every aspect of our ministry. We desire to have our church be a house of prayer.
Body Life through true worship: As part of the loving body of Jesus Christ, we integrate true worship of God, not just on Sunday mornings but also reflected in our lifestyle in every moment, in every decision and in every relationship.
Body Life through service: As part of the loving body of Jesus Christ, we serve outside the walls of our church. Crossroads Church is compassionately serving our local communities, as well as, actively participating in missions around the world.
COMMITMENT TO THE ADVANCEMENT AND GLORY OF GOD’S KINGDOM
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” — ACTS 1:8
We are committed to glorifying the one true God found in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and the advancement of His Eternal Kingdom through the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in our neighborhood, community and beyond (Matt. 28:19,20 & Acts 1:8).
We desire to be moved with compassion as Jesus was when He ministered to the multitudes. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:14). We are committed to following His example by intentionally developing and maintaining relationships that allow us to continually share the Gospel.
